We entrust daycares with our most precious assets – our children. Most child-care center owners, operators, and employees likely have the best intentions and seek to provide a safe and productive environment for our children. However, when children are injured as a result of the conduct of child-care workers, they need an understanding and aggressive legal advocate.
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (“DFPS”) regulates child-care operations in Texas. The DFPS seeks to protect the health, safety, and well-being of children in care by, in part, seeking to reduce the risk of injury, abuse, and communicable disease. It monitors child-care facilities to assure compliance with minimum standards of care, and it can also provide information about the history of specific child-care facilities.
