What is a Lawyer to Wear?

Lawyers across Texas dress somewhat differently in court.  Some courts require male lawyers to wear suits and dress shoes – the traditional route.  In other courts, male lawyers are allowed to wear sport jackets.  In yet other courts, if a male lawyer is not wearing boots, he sticks out like a sore thumb.  Dress seems to be a relatively minor matter, as long as the lawyer dresses respectfully.  However, for one lawyer, the opposing lawyer’s dress was quite important.  The lawyer wanted the opposing lawyer to wear dress shoes without holes in the soles.  Take a look -
