Two children died in a car crash in Cedar Park, Texas, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at about 3:45 p.m. The vehicles involved were a Nissan Rouge, which is an SUV, and a Dodge Ram pickup truck. Eight-year-old Elijah Chaudhary and 1-year-old Daniel Chaudhary were riding in the Nissan, and both were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the SUV, a woman whose name has not been released, suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. The man and woman in the truck suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. An investigation into the crash is underway. Officers with the Cedar Park Police Department said it is not clear who was at fault in the crash.
The deadly collision occurred at the intersection of West Whitestone Boulevard and Walton Way near Cedar Park Walmart. There was a significant amount of “intrusion damage” to the passenger side of the SUV, which is apparently where the pickup truck struck the Nissan. Lt. Bobby Vernengo of the Cedar Park Police Department said several people stopped after the crash to render aid.
