The Houston, Texas Police Department recently filed a custodial death report with the Attorney General of Texas, regarding the death of Kent Jackson Griffin.  Mr. Griffin was 56 years of age at the time of his death.  Information in this post was obtained from that report, and we have no personal knowledge of what occurred, nor do we make any allegations of any wrongdoing against anyone.

Houston police officers received a call regarding alleged criminal mischief in progress at a Whataburger restaurant in Houston.  Mr. Griffin had allegedly destroyed a portion of the inside of the restaurant.  Responding patrol officers eventually located Mr. Griffin in the parking lot of the Westwood Mall.  Allegedly, after being captured and handcuffed, Mr. Griffin physically struggled and resisted arrest.  The report indicates that Mr. Griffin stumbled to the ground, and hit his head on the pavement.  Mr. Griffin then became unresponsive and was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital.  An autopsy was to be conducted.
