A 2nd Dallas County TX Inmate Dies in 1 Week
Ariel Nicole Henley, age 25, was booked into Dallas County Jail on September 23, 2022. Tragically, she died in the jail’s custody on October 5, 2022, for unknown causes. The address of the Dallas County Jail is 111 W. Commerce St., Dallas TX 75207.
Two Inmate Deaths Occur in One Week in Dallas County Jail
When 25-year-old Ariel Nicole Henley died in Dallas County Jail on October 5, 2022, she became the second Dallas County inmate to die in a week’s time. On September 29, 2022, 24-year-old Shamond Titas Lewis died in the same Dallas jail where Ms. Henley was detained. Both young people had short stays before being pronounced deceased. Mr. Lewis was incarcerated for one week and Ms. Henley for just under two weeks. This series will provide more details about Ms. Henley’s death and more information about Mr. Lewis follows.
The custodial death report (CDR) about Mr. Lewis provides details about his stay there in the summary of how his death occurred. During the intake process that occurred at about 12:17 PM on September 22, 2022, he was identified as a potentially suicidal inmate. The jail placed him on suicide precautions and monitored the intake holding single-occupancy cell where he was temporarily housed.
At about 11:34 PM on his first day at the jail, Mr. Lewis was transferred to a second-floor Release Section for the purpose of being processed into a housing unit. He was placed in a single-cell holding unit.
