A 2nd Nueces County Jail TX Inmate has Died-Pt.2
The Nueces County Sheriff’s Office in Corpus Christi, Texas, filed a custodial death report (CDR) regarding Carlos S. Contreras on November 1, 2022. Mr. Contreras went through intake at Nueces County Jail on September 27, 2022. Tragically, he was pronounced deceased on October 2, 2022. His cause of death is unknown and pending results from an autopsy.
A Third Death in Three Weeks Occurs in a Nebraska County Jail
At 3:30 AM on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, a 59-year-old inmate in a Douglas County jail in Nebraska was found unresponsive in his cell. Lifesaving care commenced immediately, but the man was declared deceased by local fire department personnel at 3:47 AM.
An identical scenario seems to have occurred at the same jail last week as well as three weeks ago, though one of the three recently deceased inmates was a woman. The county is facing heightened scrutiny because of these custodial deaths, but they have declined further comment due to grand jury investigations, which are required by the state.
A Second Inmate Death Occurs in Seven Months in a Tennessee County Jail
On Saturday, November 5, 2022, an inmate in Lewis County Jail was declared deceased. No information was given other than to say that the custodial death is under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). This death was the second at the county facility in a seven-month period.
