A 40-Yr-Old Fort Bend County Jail Texas Inmate Dies-Pt2

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department filed a custodial death report on Kristen Anthony Cabezas on April 4, 2022. The summary of how Mr. Cabezas died on March 23, 2022, indicates that he was transported to a local hospital after having a seizure. It also states that the death is under investigation by the Texas Rangers, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, and the Medical Examiner’s Office in Fort Bend County.

A 54-Year-Old County Jail Inmate Commits Suicide

In March 2022 news from outside Texas, a custodial suicide at a county jail was reported. Details have not emerged other than to say that a 54-year-old male inmate died of an apparent suicide. The cause of death is pending an autopsy and the custodial death is being investigated by various agencies, including the Attorney General’s Office in that state.

A Second Suicide in 6 Months Occurs in a County Jail Outside Texas

At a county jail outside Texas, a 46-year-old man committed suicide. He was on suicide watch protocol, which involves corrections officers monitoring inmate behavior regularly. This death was the second suicide at that particular jail in less than six months. It’s the seventh custodial suicide there since 2015. Another recent story shows that the jail is among the many county jails experiencing a staffing crisis.
