A 40-Yr-Old Fort Bend County Jail Texas Inmate Dies-Pt3

An inmate at Fort Bend County Jail in Richmond, Texas, 40-year-old Kristen Anthony Cabezas was housed in a multiple occupancy cell when he suffered a medical emergency. A jailer discovered that he was having a seizure. Mr. Cabezas was soon transported to Oak Bend Hospital and was pronounced dead minutes later. He died on March 23, 2022.

A 4th Inmate Dies in One County This Year

A 27-year-old inmate was discovered hanging in his county jail cell outside Texas on February 26, 2022. Life-saving measures were quickly instigated, but, tragically, the inmate was pronounced dead that day. Three other custodial deaths have occurred in that same county this year. The dates of the other 2022 deaths are January 12, January 17, and February 13. In 2021, health inspectors discovered unsafe and poor living conditions in that county’s jails. As a result, in October 2021, a county grand jury was established to delve into the matter. However, a special prosecutor chose, instead, to rely on the multi-county’s grand jury in the state.

An Inmate Dies by Suicide in a County Jail on 2/27/22

In another recent suicide in a county jail outside Texas this year, an inmate was discovered dead by suicide on the early morning of February 27, 2022. No further details were released about the individual. News reports do say, however, that investigations will be conducted by the state’s commission on correction and the Special Investigation Unit of the state’s Attorney General’s Office.
