A 44-Yr-Old Inmate in Guadalupe County Jail TX Dies-Pt.3

Chad Lenoch, age 44, died on his sixth day as an inmate of Guadalupe County Jail in Seguin, Texas. His entry date was October 4, 2022, and his death was on October 10, 2022. The custodial death report (CDR) regarding Mr. Lenoch was filed by the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, and the most specific information found is in answer to a question regarding whether there was a pre-existing medical condition that the decedent suffered or if a medical condition developed after he was admitted. The answer states that this situation is not applicable because the cause of death was intoxication, accidental injury, homicide, or suicide. Officially, the cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Bexar County Jail Inmate Emmitt Earl Byrd Dies from Suicide

Emmitt Earl Byrd was booked into Bexar County Jail in San Antonio, Texas, on April 17, 2022. Tragically, the 44-year-old died a few days later on April 21, 2022. The CDR pertaining to Mr. Byrd’s death shows that the jail’s location is 200 N. Comal in San Antonio, TX 78207.

The summary of how the death happened begins with a deputy observing Mr. Byrd hanging from his neck by a sheet that was secured to an interior hinge of the cell door. The deputy opened the cell door immediately and helped Mr. Byrd by lifting him up and utilizing a rescue cutting tool to cut him down.

Mr. Byrd was placed on the floor of the cell, and lifesaving measures began. Chest compressions were applied first by medical personnel from the jail and then by EMS personnel with the San Antonio Fire Department. Mr. Byrd was pronounced deceased in the cell.
