A Galveston County Jail Detainee Dies in 24 Hours-Pt.5
When Jeanette Marie Pruitt entered Galveston County Jail, the individual who handled intake indicated “unknown” to the questions of whether she appeared to be intoxicated by alcohol or drugs and whether she exhibited any medical problems. Tragically, for unknown reasons, Ms. Pruitt died on July 3, 2023, just 24 hours after she entered the Galveston, Texas, jail.
Sepsis is Among the Conditions Detainee Reatha Sue Robinson Died of in Grayson County Jail
Reatha Sue Robinson was incarcerated in Grayson County Jail at 200 S. Crockett St in Sherman TX 75090. She was in the jail from January 1, 2022, until September 13, 2022, when she was transferred to a hospital for medical treatment. Sadly, she died at age 53 on September 24, 2022.
The medical staff at the Grayson County Jail had been monitoring the health of Ms. Robinson since her arrival, providing treatment for ongoing cirrhosis of the liver. They made the request to have Ms. Robinson transported to a hospital. She was taken to Texoma Medical Center.
While she was in the hospital, Ms. Robinson was diagnosed with several other life-threatening issues, including sepsis and pneumonia. Doctors conducted an EEG to check for brain activity, and they found there was none. Based on information from the hospital staff, the family made the final decision to have her removed from life support.
