A Lubbock County Jail Inmate Dies on the 5th Day-Pt.1
Forty-nine-year-old Ruthie Jean Fisk was booked into Lubbock County Jail on April 1, 2022. She was pronounced deceased in the jail at 5:56 PM on April 6, 2022. Per the custodial death report (CDR) that was filed by the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, she died in the jail’s booking area. The address of Lubbock County Jail is 3502 N. A Texas County Jail Inmate Dies of Diabetic Ketoacidosis
On July 2, 2021, an inmate in a Texas county jail was admitted into the facility. The jailer who handled intake noted that the man exhibited mental health problems and medical problems. He was placed in a multiple occupancy cell.
The summary of how the 23-year-old inmate died on August 18, 2021, says that he went into medical distress and became unresponsive on August 17, 2021. He appeared to be in cardiac arrest, and lifesaving measures were initiated. The local fire department EMS was notified, and they responded to the scene. They took over the lifesaving measures.
The inmate was transported to a local hospital, where lifesaving measures continued after a pulse was found. He was examined and diagnosed with possible diabetic ketoacidosis. He was placed on life support, and his family was contacted. While he was in the hospital, the jail released the man from the jail’s custody on August 17, 2021, at 12:55 PM on a personal recognizance bond. The following day the family terminated lifesaving measures and the inmate subsequently died on August 18, 2021, at 7:53 PM.
