A Lubbock County Jail Inmate Dies on the 5th Day-Pt.3
Details about the death of 49-year-old Ruthie Jean Fisk are found in the custodial death report (CDR) under the summary of how the death occurred. At 5:10 PM on April 6, 2022, the day of her death, officers were making a jail security check in the Medical Center housing area of Lubbock County Jail in Lubbock, Texas. When they arrived at cell MC-18, they saw Inmate Ruthie Fisk lying face down on the floor. She made no response to their commands.
Bexar County Jail Inmate Dies of Diabetic Ketoacidosis
Jarnell Kimble was booked into Bexar County Jail in San Antonio, Texas, on February 28, 2019. He died in the jail’s custody on March 29, 2019. The Medical Examiner did an autopsy and determined that the cause of death was diabetic ketoacidosis.
At intake, it was noted that he didn’t exhibit any medical problems. However, the CDR shows that, after admission to the jail’s jurisdiction, he had been receiving treatment for the medical condition that caused his death.
At about 10:34 AM on the day of his death, Mr. Kimble was found unresponsive in his cell, which was a multiple-occupancy cell. A medical code was announced for “Inmate Kimble.” When the medical staff arrived, the code was upgraded to a Code 1 Blue and EMS was dispatched. Mr. Kimble was transported by ambulance to Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, and he was pronounced deceased at 8:52 PM by medical staff at the hospital.
