A Lubbock County Jail Inmate Dies on the 5th Day-Pt.4
On April 6, 2023, after Ruthie Jean Fisk was discovered face-down on the floor in her cell in Lubbock County Jail, officers made a radio call about the unresponsive inmate. Medical staff, supervisors, and officers responded to the area. Medical personnel began an evaluation of Ms. Fisk and began lifesaving measures in the Lubbock, Texas, jail.
A 23-Year-Old Denton County Jail Inmate Dies of Possible Ketoacidosis
Brandon Alexander Dominguez was booked into Denton County Jail on July 2, 2021. The jail where he was incarcerated is located at 127 N. Woodrow Ln in Denton, Texas, 76205. During intake, per the custodial death report (CDR), he exhibited medical problems and mental health problems.
Tragically, Mr. Dominguez died in the jail’s custody. An autopsy showed that Mr. Dominguez had a history of Covid-19 and died of possible diabetic ketoacidosis.
In the summary of how his death occurred, it says that Inmate Dominguez went into medical distress and became unresponsive on August 17, 2021. The Denton County Health Department medical personnel responded. Inmate Dominguez appeared to be in cardiac arrest and lifesaving measures were initiated. He was transported to Medical City Denton, a hospital facility, and a pulse was detected. Lifesaving measures continued. He was diagnosed with possible diabetic ketoacidosis and placed on life support. He was pronounced deceased on August 18, 2021, at 7:53 PM.
