A Taylor County Jail Inmate Dies of Unknown Reasons~Pt.2
On May 1, 2023, a custodial death report (CDR) was filed about Kevin Marlon Myers by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office located at 450 Pecan in Abilene, TX 79602. The CDR shows that the jailer handling intake saw that Mr. Myers exhibited medical problems. There is no indication that he received medical care at the jail prior to his death on April 29, 2023. The CDR does indicate under “who caused the death if it was an accident, homicide, or suicide” that it is unknown whether the decedent sustained a fatal injury.
A Now-Deceased Inmate was Allegedly Denied Medical Care Continued
A duodenal ulcer is an open sore that develops on the inside of the upper portion of the small intestine (duodenum). It is a type of peptic ulcer, which is usually caused by an infection.
If medical personnel in a jail are paying attention to symptoms, they may recognize that an inmate with certain symptoms could be suffering from a duodenal ulcer. Also, a perforated duodenal ulcer, which is a much more serious condition, includes these symptoms:
- Sudden onset of severe abdominal pain
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Pyrexia, which is raised body temperature; fever
But before a person suffers from a perforated duodenal ulcer, they will typically experience some of the symptoms of a duodenal ulcer. More information to follow.
