A Travis County TX Inmate Dies by Suicide on 2/9/22-Pt4
During booking at Travis County Jail in Austin, Texas, on February 7, 2022, Jared Jon Bell made suicidal statements. Two days later, a jailer left the inmate alone to make a phone call. Mr. Bell used the long cord on the phone to commit suicide, and he died on February 9th, 2022.
Alexander Jonah McFarland
Alexander Jonah McFarland was booked into Travis County Jail on July 3, 2021. He died at age 31 two weeks later on July 16, 2021. Tragically, the manner of death was suicide and the medical cause was hanging. Mr. McFarland had been in a single cell and used a sheet to hang himself. According to the custodial death report, it was unknown whether the inmate made suicidal statements. However, he did exhibit medical problems. Adan Ricardo Torres
Adan Ricardo Torres was booked into Travis County Jail on October 26, 2021. He was discovered hanging in his single cell on November 14, 2021. He died at age 35 on November 19, 2021, as a result of the injuries sustained while he was hanging. Although the custodial death report shows that Mr. Torres exhibited mental health problems, he did not make suicidal statements.
