An Alleged Police Shooting that Occurred in Loranger, Louisiana, is Being Investigated by the State Police
In Tangipahoa Parish in Loranger, Louisiana, an alleged police shooting occurred on Tuesday morning, November 21, 2017. Tangipahoa sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a suicidal suspect on Lanier Creek Road at approximately 10:30 a.m. Soon after the law enforcement officers got to the residence, the suspect reportedly exited the home carrying a firearm. Sheriff’s deputies on the scene allegedly shot the suspect, who was then transported to a nearby hospital. According to authorities, he was reported to be in critical but stable condition. There has been no further information released about the incident other than the fact that it is being investigated by the Louisiana State Police.

On November 10, 2017, at 8:15 a.m., police officers with the Spur Police Department in Spur, Texas, responded to a criminal trespass call on N. Calvert. A 34-year-old male Hispanic or Latino suspect exhibited, used, or carried a deadly weapon. A 34-year-old male Hispanic or Latino peace officer allegedly caused injury to the suspect.
There is always an investigation when an officer-involved shooting occurs in Texas. The officer is usually given paid administrative leave during the investigation.
