Michele Allen was 51 years old when she was booked into Randall County Jail on August 8, 2023. She was pronounced deceased on August 11, 2023, which was only about 32 hours later. An Inmate Dies of Suicide in Randall County Jail on August 14, 2023

Tragedy occurred for a second time in August 2023 in Randall County Jail in Amarillo, Texas. After a woman died on August 11, a 39-year-old male detainee died after hanging himself in the shower. He had used a mattress cover to fashion a ligature. During the booking process, the detainee did not make any suicidal statements. The Randall County Jail that this detainee was placed in was at 9100 S. Georgia Street in Amarillo, Texas.

The decedent had been in the jail from July 31, 2023, until his death there on August 14, 2023. Not much is said about the man’s stay in the jail.
