An Inmate Housed in a Detox Cell in Tarrant County Jail Dies-Pt.5
On March 18, 2022, Heidiann Renee Gitts went through intake at Tarrant County Jail. The documentation at booking indicates that it is unknown whether she was intoxicated on drugs or alcohol, but she exhibited medical problems. She was placed under detox protocols, but, tragically, about 57 hours after booking, the 32-year-old was pronounced deceased.
Trelynn Dmaun Wormley Dies After Incarceration in Tarrant County Jail
Trelynn Dmaun Wormley had just turned 23 years old when he was booked into Tarrant County Jail on January 25, 2022. He exhibited mental health problems and medical problems during intake. Mr. Wormley was placed in a multiple-occupancy cell.
Not much is said about the approximately 6 months that he was there. But the custodial death report (CDR) shows he was in leg shackles in the time leading up to the death or the events causing his death.
The summary of how Mr. Wormley’s death occurred indicates that at 2:52 PM on July 20, 2022, fellow inmates reported that he appeared to be having trouble breathing. A Medical Emergency Code was quickly changed to a Dr. Heart (cardiac emergency) at 2:53. The MedStar Ambulance Service transported him to John Peter Smith Hospital, where a physician pronounced him deceased at 3:55 the same day.
