An Inmate in Austin TX Dies After being Found Hallucinating-Pt.4
On January 14, 2023, after 47-year-old inmate Israel Resendiz Molina in Travis County Jail was seen possibly hallucinating in his single-man cell at approximately 8:00 AM, jailers submitted a medical evaluation request. Shortly afterward, members of the medical staff in the Austin jail arrived for the purpose of completing an evaluation of the inmate. They discovered that Mr. Molina was unresponsive on the cell floor.
Victor Rene Gonzales Dies on his 4th Day in Travis County Jail –Continued
The following continues the narrative on 37-year-old Victor Rene Gonzales, who became unresponsive as jailers were preparing to escort him to medical services in the facility. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was initiated by jail staff. The Travis Fire Department and emergency medical services (EMS) were summoned, and they quickly arrived. Mr. Gonzales was transported by ambulance to Dell Seton Medical Center. On September 4, 2022, at 3:43 AM, Mr. Gonzales was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The custodial death report (CDR) about Mr. Gonzales indicates that his death was related to a preexisting medical condition. However, his cause of death is unknown and is still pending the results of an autopsy, based on the lack of an update on the original CDR.
