Former Jailers Outside of Texas Air Complaints About Alleged Jail Violations – Part 1

DM County Jail

In recent news concerning a jail outside of Texas, a former staff member has brought claims against a Sheriff for whistleblower type activities. The former jail administrator who served in a supportive role brought violations to light, and he was fired by his superiors.

The former administrator is not the only former employee who has come forward because they say laws are being violated, people are being hurt, and no one in authority is being held accountable.

As a way of bringing alleged jail violations to light, the former jail administrator contacted a news agency. For that reason, the alleged misconduct and violations of inmate rights as well as state and federal law have been made known to the public.

The types of activities that have disturbed the former employee because they are allegedly not reported include serious injuries to inmates as well as jailers, life-threatening suicide attempts, significant damage to the jail, and a prisoner escape.

An investigative agency checked on inspections for the jail and discovered that some incidents which apparently were reported were in line with the complaints of the former jail administrator.

The other former employee, a jailer, has spoken up about his discomfort with many violations he had seen at the jail. He finally quit the job because what he saw going on bothered him.
