Kevin Alexander Sanchez-Trejo was placed in a single cell after being booked into Harris County Jail. His was discovered unresponsive on February 12, 2022. In spite of life-saving measures being taken by the jail’s medical staff and paramedics with the Houston Fire Department, 21-year-old Kevin Alexander Sanchez-Trejo died that same day. His cause of death is unknown and pending the results of the autopsy.

Harris County Jail Inmate Anne Elizabeth Murphy Dies on 12/1/21

In 2021, Anne Elizabeth Murphy was an inmate at Harris County Jail who also died of unknown causes while in custody. She was booked into the jail located at 1200 Baker Street, Houston TX 77002 on November 8, 2021. She was placed in a multiple occupancy cell. The custodial death report (CDR) shows that it was unknown whether she exhibited mental health problems or made suicidal statements. However, the CDR does indicate that Ms. Murphy exhibited medical problems. A jail supervisor was performing face-to-face observations of inmates on December 1, 2021, when fellow inmates advised him that Ms. Murphy appeared to be in medical distress. Life-saving measures were applied and she was transported to St. Joseph Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a medical physician that same day.
