dubai 3

The information in this series has been about accusations that have been made about a county jail outside of Texas in which the civil rights of inmates have allegedly been violated. The following is one last set of allegations about the jail staff as told by a current inmate.

Inmate Story #4

An inmate who has been at the county jail since early 2015 says that he has depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. He says that on several dozen occasions he has been placed in solitary confinement. Force has allegedly been used on him 20-plus times by correctional officers. In addition, he alleges that he has repeatedly been placed in the restraint chair. On one occasion, he says that he was kept in the chair for 28 hours.

Additional claims of the inmate include being denied contact visits, phone privileges, and commissary. He was also allegedly refused the opportunity to speak to his mother, who he said is suffering from a terminal illness. The inmate says that he attempted suicide at least three times by attempting to overdose on medications. His medical records allegedly reflect that his behavior was not truly suicidal but rather a symptom of his personality disorder and a type of maladaptive behavior.

See Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, and Part 6 of this seven-part series to learn about possible civil rights violations that have allegedly occurred at a county jail located outside of Texas.
