Llano County Sheriff’s Department Jail Inmate Dies

Courthouse 1

Cindy Lou Yonker recently passed away while in the custody of the Llano County Sheriff’s Department. Information in this post was obtained from a custodial death report filed by the Llano County Sheriff’s Department with the Attorney General of Texas. We make no allegation of any wrongdoing in this post.

Ms. Yonker was initially taken into to custody on or about December 24, 2017. She was allegedly intoxicated and transported to the Llano County Jail. On Christmas, while jail staff were preparing Ms. Yonker for magistration, they noticed she was having a physical issue. At some point, she began speaking incoherently and staggering. Jail staff believed Ms. Yonker was in the midst of a seizure, and they detected a slight pulse. EMS personnel were called to the jail and began life-saving treatment when Ms. Yonker apparently had no pulse. Ms. Yonker was ultimately transported to an area hospital, and life support was removed on January 2, 2018. Autopsy results are pending.
