Man Dies in Custody of Nueces County Sheriff

Courthouse

A custodial death report filed with the Attorney General of Texas by the Nueces County Sheriff’s Department indicates that Gabriel Trevino, 32 years of age at the time, passed away on December 5, 2017 after being in the custody of the Nueces County Sheriff’s Department.  Information in this post was extracted from that report, and we have no personal knowledge of what occurred.  Moreover, we make no allegations of any wrongdoing.  Mr. Trevino allegedly had a pre-existing medical condition, and was originally incarcerated in the Nueces County Jail on October 17, 2017.

On December 5, 2017, at approximately 12:35 a.m., an officer found Mr. Trevino when conducting a security check of the jail’s infirmary.  The officer found Mr. Trevino, who was non-responsive.  Medical personnel were unable to revive Mr. Trevino, and paramedics transported Mr. Trevino to a hospital approximately one hour after he was found.
