A 26-Year-Old Arizona County Jail Inmate Dies on 7/28/22
A 26-year-old inmate at an Arizona county jail died in the jail’s custody on Thursday, July 28, 2022. At approximately 2:26 AM, the inmate was discovered unresponsive in his single cell. The young man had been in the jail’s medical ward for refusing to eat, according to jail documents. Before being found unresponsive, he had been checked in a face-to-face observation 15 minutes before.
Attempts to revive the inmate were made by detention officers and medical staff. A defibrillator was also used in lifesaving efforts. Tragically, the inmate was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. The cause of the inmate’s death is currently unknown, and an autopsy is being conducted. There were no immediate signs of foul play or trauma.
Two County Jail Inmates Recently Died in California
A 33-year-old inmate under medical care at a California county jail died on Monday, August 1, 2022. He had been incarcerated since July 27, 2022. The inmate had been found unresponsive in his cell, and CPR was performed on him by deputies, jail medical staff, and Fire Department personnel, who ultimately pronounced him dead. An investigation into the custodial death is underway.
