Rankin County Jail Inmate Tevin Rogers is the 2nd Inmate Found Dead in 8 Days
Twenty-one-year-old Tevin Rogers was discovered deceased in his cell at Rankin County Jail on June 24, 2025. Jail staff saw no initial signs of trauma on his body. Mr. Rogers was the second detainee to be found dead within eight days in the Brandon, Mississippi jail. His cause of death is unknown, and the results of an autopsy are awaited. The incident is being investigated by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
Mr. Roger’s passing marks the fourth detainee to die in Rankin County Jail in 2025. Most recently, Alex Deaton was found lifeless in his cell on June 17.

Walton County Jail, Florida
On May 11, 2025, Jessie Raby with discovered dead in his cell at Florida’s Walton County Jail. Mr. Raby had been under supervision every 30 minutes. At 5:45 a.m. he was observed behaving normally. Fifteen minutes later, during breakfast service, he was found unresponsive on his back on the floor of his cell.
A nurse provided medical care after deputies discovered foreign objects obstructing Mr. Raby’s airway, including a sock, a cloth, and toilet paper. Efforts to resuscitate him failed, and he was pronounced deceased at 6:36 a.m. on May 11. Autopsy results are pending, but authorities have indicated that Mr. Raby’s death appears to be caused by his own actions.

Jefferson County, Tennessee
An investigation into the death of a 76-year-old inmate is being conducted after the man was discovered unresponsive at 12:17 a.m. on May 25, 2025. After discovering the elderly man, corrections officers immediately determined that he had no pulse, and he wasn’t breathing. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) began immediately. He was transported to Jefferson Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The death is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division. The cause of death will be determined by the results of an autopsy.

Adams County, Colorado
On May 8, 2025, deputies at Colorado’s Adams County Jail discovered that a man was dead in his cell on the second day of his incarceration. It appeared that there was foam around his mouth. Lifesaving measures began quickly, but the Brighton Fire Department personnel pronounced the man deceased in his cell. The man had a cellmate, but a spokesperson announced that there were no signs of foul play. The cause of death is unknown, and the coroner’s office will release the results following an autopsy and toxicology report.
