Wichita County Jail has been cited for violating Rule §273.5-Mental Disabilities/Suicide Prevention Plan, which is in the chapter on Health Services. The rule follows: Screening Instrument. An approved mental disabilities/suicide prevention screening instrument shall be completed immediately on all inmates admitted.
- During a review of 20 inmate medical files, it was observed that on 5 occasions staff failed to complete the Screening Form for Suicide and Medical/Mental/Developmental Impairments in its entirety. Missing information on the form includes times the form was started, comments for affirmative answers, mental health notification not documented, and questions not answered. Missing information on the screening forms was noted as an area of Technical Assistance on the comprehensive inspection conducted on August 10, 2022.
