- Jailers with intake screening responsibilities must have supplemental training.
- Certain communications are necessary to relay information about inmates booked into the jail who are potentially suicidal and/or mentally disabled, and procedures in that regard must be followed.
- Adequate housing must be provided for potentially suicidal and/or mentally disabled prisoners, and documentation must be kept ensuring that inmate supervision is being handled as required.
- Although face-to-face observation is required at intervals of a maximum of 60 minutes in the general inmate population, such observations are required at intervals of a maximum of 30 minutes among inmates with mental problems and or suicidal tendencies.
