Inmate Supervision

The chief responsibility of the Hemphill County Sheriff, as far as the jail is concerned, is to keep inmates safe. The general jail population is personally observed every hour. This type of face-to-face check must occur every half hour for high-risk inmates, such as those who are mentally ill, potentially suicidal, or maybe acting out in a bizarre manner.
