A Kroger Worker in Keller TX Suffers a Pallet-Jack-Related Injury

A serious pallet-jack-related injury allegedly occurred on January 18, 2022, at the Kroger Distribution Center Warehouse at 5801 Kroger Drive in Keller, Texas, 76244. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) conducted an inspection of the location after the accident was reported. On or about January 18, 2022, and at times thereafter, the employer did not report to OSHA a work-related hospitalization within the required 24 hours after being notified of the hospitalization.

Summary of the Serious Work Accident at Kroger in Keller, Texas, on 1/18/22

There are two different summaries of what occurred in the 1/18/22 work accident, and the following incorporates the information from both the inspection report and the serious work injuries report:

  • On January 18, 2022, at 10:08 a.m., a temporary employee was driving a motorized pallet jack and was returning to his work area to begin a new order. When he made a right-hand turn to enter a doorway, he lost control of the jack and collided with a stack of product in plastic containers. The employee was pinned between the pallet jack and the stack of product. The employee suffered fractures in his left foot and right ankle and was hospitalized for treatment of his injuries.
