OSHA Allegedly not Protecting Whistleblowers

Government auditors allege that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) has failed for years to establish a system to shield whistleblowers from retaliation by their employers.  The Government Accountability Office (“GAO”) in a report criticizes OSHA for what the GAO alleges are “ineffective” whistleblower protections which continued for twenty years after auditors first reported the alleged weaknesses.  OSHA was created to ensure safe and healthy working conditions for employees.  It is now charged with enforcement of eighteen whistleblower laws.  Here is a link to an article regarding the issue –
