The United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) cited Francisco Rubio, a Sunnyvale, Texas framing contractor, for two alleged serious and ten alleged repeat violations for failing to protect workers from falls and electrical, and struck-by hazards at a worksite in Rockwall, Texas. The contractor could be forced to pay $82,200.00 in fines.  OSHA inspected the worksite on Barton Springs Lane in Rockwall and allegedly found that workers were framing a house without the use of certain protective equipment.  The alleged serious violations were for failing to ensure that electrical cords were capable of carrying the proper load or current and failing to provide fire extinguishers.  The alleged repeat violations included failing to provide fall protection equipment, failing to provide safe access to elevated work areas, failing to ensure the use of safety glasses, and failing to ensure that work platforms and walkways were at least eighteen inches wide.
