OSHA recently fined an underground utility contractor as a result of an unsafe job site. OSHA indicates that the contractor exposed employees to what OSHA inspectors referred to as cave-in and other trenching hazards. It is important that Texas employers comply with OSHA rules and regulations regarding trenching. Unfortunately, trench collapses lead to a significant number of injuries and death in the United States. Such collapses are completely avoidable, if employers comply with appropriate safety rules.
