Inmate Dies of Cannabinoid Use in Bexar County Jail
Julius Ronnie Price died on July 17, 2021, when he was still in the custody of Bexar County Jail in San Antonio, Texas. An autopsy was done and the results show that he died of probable complications of synthetic cannabinoid use. He hadn’t received any medical treatment for that condition when he was in the jail’s jurisdiction. All that is said about his condition is mentioned in the custodial death report about his final hours.
The summary of how his death occurred indicated that Mr. Price complained of experiencing pain and being unable to move and being unable to use the restroom. The medical staff evaluated his condition, and they advised the medical security corporal that Mr. Price should be transported to University Hospital. While he was there, Mr. Price “coded” and medical staff used lifesaving efforts such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Their efforts were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced deceased.
