Terrance D’Shawn Hammond entered Brazos County Detention Center at 1:14 AM on May 13, 2022. He was pronounced deceased less than 9 hours later after being transferred to CHI Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan. His cause of death is unknown and currently pending autopsy results. An Inmate Dies After Suffering a Medical Issue
An inmate in a county jail outside Texas reportedly suffered a medical problem on Saturday, June 5, 2022. The identity of the inmate, including gender, has not yet been revealed. The inmate was transported to a nearby hospital and then moved to another for treatment. He or she then passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022. A cause of death was not mentioned, which usually means autopsy results are needed to make an accurate determination.
The State Bureau of Investigation will conduct an investigation in the inmate’s death. In Texas, the Texas Rangers are the ones who typically investigate custodial deaths.
