An Inmate Housed in a Detox Cell in Tarrant County Jail Dies-Pt.3
The custodial death report (CDR) about how Heidiann Renee Gitts’ death occurred on March 20, 2023, states that she was housed under detox protocols after being booked into Tarrant County Jail. It says that around 1:06 PM, she experienced a medical emergency while she was in the shower area of her pod. She was transported by ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital.
George William Zink Dies in Tarrant County Jail Continued
When George William Zink got to the medical unit, he was seen by medical personnel. The medical staff asked for the MedStar ambulance to transport Mr. Zink to the John Peter Smith Hospital. Before the ambulance got there, medical personnel began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Mr. Zink. The Fort Worth Fire Department arrived on the scene, and they used the Lucas machine to continue chest compressions.
After arrival at the hospital, a physician declared him deceased at approximately 9:18 on February 15, 2023. The Tarrant County Medical Examiners’ Office retrieved Mr. Zink’s body from the hospital and transported him to the Medical Examiners’ Office for an autopsy. The results of the autopsy were still pending, per the CDR, on March 13, 2023. As of April 21, 2023, an updated version of the CDR showing autopsy results is still not available.
Kenneth Ray Perry Dies in Tarrant County Jail
After Kenneth Ray Perry was booked into Tarrant County Jail on September 27, 2022, at 8:28 PM and he lived for only about 34 more hours. Mr. Perry, age 65, died at 6:25 AM on September 29, 2022.
