Ms. Olguin’s cause of death is unknown, and the only indication of what it is believed to be is the sheriff’s office’s answer to the question of whether she died of a pre-existing medical condition. The answer was:
It is not applicable because her cause of death was “accidental injury, intoxication, suicide, or homicide.”
The summary of how Ms. Olguin’s death occurred provides the following information:
At about 9:35 a.m. on September 26, 2025, as jail nursing staff distributed daily medication, Ms. Olguin was observed laying in her assigned bunk in the multiple occupancy cell where she was housed. Jail administration reviewed the video surveillance of the inmate’s cell and reported the following:

- It appeared that, over time, Ms. Olguin ingested an unknown amount of Acetaminophen that she received via commissary on September 24, 2025, which may have reacted to her medication that was prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner.
Among the requirements for jails in Texas is an emergency plan. Inmates must be provided with 24-hour emergency access. All jail personnel, including health services and correctional staff, must have training in emergency response and CPR. A supply of emergency equipment and drugs appropriate to the services they provide must be kept at every jail facility. If a detainee becomes critically ill, the jail must notify their designated emergency contact.
The address of Eastland County Jail is 201 W White St, Eastland, Texas 76448. The jail has an inmate capacity of 97.
