Two Commit Suicide in a County Correctional Facility Continued
The sheriff said that, on average, 8 to 12 suicide attempts are stopped by the correctional facility staff. He also said that since 2017, they have interceded and saved 63 inmates’ lives who were attempting suicide.
Narcan Could Not Save an Inmate
Apparently, the sheriff and medical staff at a county jail outside Texas believe an inmate’s death was caused by an intentional overdose of drugs. The 44-year-old was found unresponsive in his cell during a welfare check. During lifesaving measures, Narcan and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) were administered. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased shortly after they arrived. Multiple law agencies are investigating the death.
Accused Murderer is Found Deceased by Suicide
A man who gained notoriety after he allegedly killed a woman who was listed on Airbnb has purportedly died of suicide. The 27-year-old was found unresponsive in a cell when deputies conducted a routine cell check. He was alone in his cell. Deputies performed CPR and tried other lifesaving measures before the county emergency medical services team arrived at the scene. The man could not be revived.
Inmate Dies of Asphyxiation
In an apparent suicide, a 37-year-old was found unresponsive in his cell. He was alone in his cell when he committed suicide. Attempts were made to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead. Officials said that, per the initial investigation, he died by asphyxiation.
